We invite You to participate in SPRING SCHOOL AT WROCLAW TECH.: "URBAN MOBILITY – CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES" organized by Urban Innovation Center at Wroclaw University of Science and Technology. 

Workshop information:

Ready to experience the city as a living mobility lab?

Join our 5-day immersive classes in Wrocław, where urban transport, sustainability, and innovation come together through hands-on learning, expert sessions, and real-world exploration.

You won’t only just sit in a classroom — you’ll ride a historic tram through Wrocław to observe how infrastructure, public transport, and passenger information systems work in real life. You will travel to Katowice to visit the National Road Safety Centre, test a car rollover in controlled conditions, use tractor-trailer driving simulators and other immersive experiences, analyze road traffic hazards, and complete a practical first aid course.

Across the week, you’ll explore topics such as:

Building resilient and sustainable mobility systems

Designing multimodal and inclusive cities

Improving urban accessibility for people with limited mobility

Understanding the Public-Private-People approach to transport governance

Meet inspiring experts, collaborate with international participants, and gain skills that matter for future careers in urban planning, mobility, engineering, and sustainability.

By participating in the spring school, you will improve your competences in the following areas:

Understanding of Sustainable and Resilient Urban Mobility

Demonstrates an understanding of how urban mobility systems contribute to sustainable and resilient cities, including their social, environmental, and governance dimensions.

Observation and Analysis of Transport Infrastructure and Safety

Able to observe, describe, and critically assess transport infrastructure solutions, traffic safety issues, and passenger-oriented systems based on real-world examples and guided field activities.

Knowledge of Multimodal and Inclusive Mobility Solutions

Possesses basic knowledge of multimodal transport concepts and inclusive design principles, including the benefits, limitations, and challenges of adapting urban spaces to diverse user needs.

Awareness of Community-Oriented and Interdisciplinary Approaches

Shows awareness of the role of communities, public institutions, and interdisciplinary cooperation in shaping effective and people-centered urban mobility and transport policies.

Understanding of Accessibility and Disability-Inclusive Urban DesignDemonstrates awareness of the diverse needs of people with disabilities and understands how inclusive design principles can be applied to urban spaces and transport systems to reduce barriers and improve mobility.

Qualified participants will be able to receive funding for travel, subsistence and accommodation costs during the training after the training has taken place.*

*The lump sum is not applicable to students from Poland. Eligibility for the lump sum applies to individuals undertaking a mobility programme.
