U-team! An Alliance of European Universities for Building a Joint Educational Offer and Conducting Research

With the support of partners from the Unite! network, Wrocław University of Science and Technology (WUST) is implementing a project titled “U-team! An Alliance of European universities for building a joint educational offer and conducting research.” The project is funded by the European Union through the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA). Universities from Spain, Germany, and Portugal will participate in the implementation of this initiative, which is planned to continue until 2026.

Goals:

The project aims to enhance the internationalization of Wrocław University of Science and Technology by carrying out synergistic and complementary activities aligned with international academic partnerships within the framework of the European Universities Alliances, particularly within the Unite! network. The initiative will contribute to:

  • Increasing student and staff mobility,
  • Strengthening quality, integration, and competitiveness in European higher education.
Planned Activities:
  • Joint training for international teams – participants will take part in certification training for international research teams,
  • Working group meetings – fostering collaboration and networking among Unite! alliance partners,
  • Summer/winter schools for students and seminars, training sessions, workshops, and lectures by visiting professors aimed at academic staff to enhance their skills,
  • Sharing research infrastructure – strengthening research quality and enabling mutual access to the infrastructure of Unite! network partners.
Participating Units at WUST:
  • Faculty of Civil and Water Engineering,
  • Faculty of Information and Communication Technology,
  • Faculty of Environmental Engineering,
  • Faculty of Mechanical Engineering,
  • WUST Center for Urban Innovation.

A key element of this initiative is strengthening cooperation with Unite! network partners. The project involves three alliance universities: Universidade de Lisboa (Portugal), Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Spain) and Technische Universität Darmstadt (Germany). Faculty members from these universities will participate in working group meetings and joint training, deliver guest lectures at WUST, support shared use of research infrastructure.
